Nightfolk model maker Northumbrian Tin Soldier also publishes the official range of Time Bandits figures.
That’s to say there’s a collection of six Time Bandits, one Ultimate Evil, three minions, one Wiston the Ogre, one Mrs Ogre, Kevin, Og Pig, Agamemnon, one Minotaur and one Robin Hood.
Time Bandits is an excellent sci-fantasy directed by Terry Gillian and which stars Sean Connery, John Cleese, Ian Holm, Michael Palin, Shelly Duvall and Katherine Helmond.
It’s a Geek Native recommendation and a classic.
The movie turned 40, and Terry Gilliam was sent some of the models. It’s not that common to see icons of screen sharing their tabletop figure collection, but Gilliam is always full of surprises!
It’s not clear whether Terry uses these Time Bandits figures for games of D&D, although he certainly could, or for games like Frostgrave, as Northumbrian Tin Soldier points out.
It’s worth keeping in mind that these models aren’t toys and aren’t suitable for kids. They are suitable for pythons, though.
They’re supplied unpainted, need assembly and are very much classic, quality, old school tabletop figs. Perfection. No wonder Terry Gilliam was pleased with the gift.
