Oh yes, a Cowboy Bebop RPG is coming via a Kickstarter slated for 2022. The Netflix live-action is due out this November. The deserved hype around this fantastic anime grows.
The publisher is Mana Project Studio and Don’t Panic Games. Mana is responsible, sometimes with Fumble GDR, Nightfell, Historia, Grimoire and some outstanding looking RPGs. Don’t Panic Game already sell Bebop merch like play mats and Don’t Panic Games Cowboy Bebop – Space Serenade.
At launch, the game will feature English, French and Italian. That means typically different books, but Mana and Don’t Panic haven’t confirmed that.
In Cowboy Bebop: The Role-Playing Game characters are bounty hunters in space. The setting blends Western with film Noir, like Firefly before Firefly, and with a jazz soundtrack and touches of buddy cop movie too.
Michele Paroli, founder and lead designer of Mana Project Studio told the press;
Cowboy Bebop is part of those anime that made up our cultural background. As fans of the anime, we are thrilled to be able to work on this project, a unique opportunity to design on both the themes of CBB and its strong visual identity. Our goal is to share our passion for Cowboy Bebop with you with this game!”
Don’t Panic Games’ founder, Cedric Littardi, added;
As a pioneer of Japanese animation in Europe and an early role-player, I have always dreamed of living adventures in the universes of famous anime. We are overjoyed that Sunrise, with whom we have worked for many years, has entrusted us with making this first experience possible.”
More information is expected during Essen SPIEL which runs from the 14th to the 17th.
