If you don’t succeed, work out what you did wrong, try again and do things differently. Jeran Jenks returns to Kickstarter, and this time the 5e Toxic Seas setting has been funded.
I’m glad. The recovered apocalypse setting has a rich culture, history, lore, and the toxic mist and fearsome monsters. You can see progress or join in at the pitch page.
The slow disaster was 1,500 years ago. The emerald fog rose up, choking anything caught in it. Mountain tops survived, the fog stopped rising, and slowly civilisation was rebuilt.
But the world is not the same. The gods don’t reward Clerics with spells, except one.
This 5e setting book offers up a range of cultures for this unusual setting. For each one, there’s detail on;
- Their cultural attitudes
- Their unique foods (for rich and poor people)
- Their fashion and clothing
- Their relationship to the arts
Oh, and there’s new crunchy bits too; character options for origins, subclasses, spells, feats and equipment but The Traveler’s Guide to the Toxic Seas leans into its deadly flavour.
A pledge of $25 will be rewarded with a thank you, a digital copy of the book and digital stretch goals.
Shipping only to certain countries and unlocking for pledges of $50 is the game’s physical copy. That comes with the digital goodies too.
Higher tiers exist but are limited. $100 gets you the $50 digital and physical copies, but also a custom NPC in the book, or a game-ready box, battle maps, themed character sheets and a world map (I know which of those two I’d pick).
These limited extras go up to $200. The estimated fulfilment, irrespective of tier, is May 2022.
