Last week, Roll20 kindly suggested some spooky games to play over the Halloween season. I’ll share those in just a bit.
Geek Native readers would be on the ball with this thing, so I raised the game. “Why don’t team Roll20 curate a Spotify playlist for a Halloween game?” I suggested, and to their credit, Roll20 took the challenge.
I think it’s a good list! I can just imagine finding the right volume levels and letting this sinister collection play in the background.
It’s been a busy year for Roll20, and the virtual tabletop has been booming on the back of the lockdown and the growth of the tabletop hobby. In November, Roll20 Con is back. You can find that, and other events, in Geek Native’s Convention Calendar.
Roll20 Halloween night recommendations
Curse of Strahd ($24.99 USD): A D&D 5e campaign that pits adventurers opposite Count Strahd, the lord of Castle Ravenloft. It’s not a surprise to see Curse of Strahd here, it’s a popular adventure and also the first module that went up on the platform nearly 10 years ago.
Mothership ($14.99 USD): An award-winning sci-fi horror RPG with a custom character sheet built into Roll20. Roll20 suggested checking out The Haunting of Epsilon and Dead Planet modules in the Marketplace.
Monster of the Week ($19.99 USD): Hunt monsters with a bunch of friends in an Apocalypse World-based action-horror RPG. The Roll20 Mystery Bundle includes over 30 mysteries.
Alien RPG Starter Set ($29.99 USD): “Welcome to the year 2183. Something lurks in space, and it’s up to you to survive in spite of it.” The Roll20 edition has a converted version of the Alien RPG Ruleset, with searchable handouts and floor plans.
Fate Worlds: Fangs and Claws Bundle ($19.99 USD): Evil Hat Productions’ bundle includes a supernatural trek through the old west, cats warding off eldritch evil, a gene-splicing rebellion, and a traditional zombie apocalypse.
