There are two ways to use Tabletopy, and it is a good combination.
The first is Tabletopy.com. The website loads in a flash and gives you easy access icons and a menu. Click on “coins”, for example, and hear a clink of coins. Or click on “Tavern”, with an infinite loop symbol, and you’ll get background sounds for a tavern.
The soundboard is intended for GMs, DMs, storytellers and other creators to add ambience to their games. I imagine you could use it in podcasts or actual play videos on Twitch and YouTube as well.
It’s free to use, but the website only hints at what the soundboard can do.
Fans of the free to use teasers can, from this week, head over to DriveThruRPG for a download.
The $24 purchase is a lifetime license. You pay once, and you won’t need to pay again. It also means you can run the soundboard without an internet connection.
The standalone product has more sound effects and background music. The functionality is different. Right now, you’ll need Windows and a display running at 1200×700 or higher to use the app.
