Do you remember your initial reaction to hearing the news that Disney would enter the streaming battle?
I do; because it resulted in Daredevil and the Marvel suit leaving Netflix. Disney’s launch into streaming felt inevitable, but success didn’t. After all, Hulu came to the UK, tried, and retreated in only a few months.
Data from JustWatch a streaming search engine, suggests that Disney+ is taking over the world.
At least, Disney+ is the quickest growing streaming platform is outgrowing all competitors in 91% of the markets it operates in.
Notably, the USA is an exception where HBO Max has found success. Here in the UK, Comcast owned Sky, has a deal with HBO to show some of that content.
In Australia, Binge, which is owned by Foxtel, owned by News Corp Australia, leads the pack.
