OneBookShelf kindly added to the list of charities that publishers can support yesterday. I talked about how bundles of RPG downloads could be used to raise money for good causes.
As Geek Native signed up to a program from the DMs Guild to try and help boost third party indie creators who can earn money through their own content, I saw the chance to spotlight some good causes.
Publishers don’t need to use bundles to raise money for charities at the DMs Guild and other OBS sites. Money from standalone titles can also be sent to good causes. There’s quite a list of 5e content that supports Extra Life, for example.
DMs Guild charity downloads
- 5e Paladin: Oath of Liberty by Cory Longenecker.
- 5e Parents’ Guide to Classes by Cory Longenecker.
- 5e Revised Ranger by Cory Longenecker and Sean Goodison.
- 5e Warlock: Pact of the Draft Cory Longenecker, Harrison Cote and RP Davis.
- Adventure with Muk (5e) from Wizards of the Coast.
- D&D 5e Stress Conditions by Cory Longenecker.
- Dank Crypt from Stone Claw Games.
- Quite the Pickle – A Saltmarsh Adventure and a Fantasy Grounds edition by Trevor Salla and Robyn Nix.
- The Dreams of Prince Papo by Anthony Joyce.
- Tower of the Rage Mage (5e) by Michael Fritz.
That’s quite a list of titles that aren’t temporary or special promotions but donating any money made for the creator to a children’s charity instead.
Also, yeah, if you’re thinking that one of the purposes of this post was to highlight DMs Guild creators and give them a nudge, then picking titles they’ve worked on but don’t profit from is… odd.
Fair point.
I hope that if you grab any of these inexpensive titles, you become a fan of the creator and buy more from them. For example, you can find Cory Longenecker’s titles here and maybe one a day a non-charity download might appear.
It’s an excellent problem to have, though, helping a community that’s busy helping others.
Or you can just pop over to the DMs Guild’s Fizban’s Draontacular Sale and grab a title with up to 40% off. You’ve until Nov 16 to do that.
