Demiplane and WoD have today announced the World of Darkness Nexus.
The platform will be the official toolset for Vampire: The Masquerade, Werewolf: The Apocalypse and Hunter: The Reckoning. A launch date of 2022 is slated, with Early Access beforehand.
Adam Bradford, Chief Development Officer at Demiplane, told the press;
There’s really nothing like World of Darkness. The rich lore and unique feel of the setting leads to such compelling characters that you want to find out what happens to them. World of Darkness Nexus will allow players to engage with those characters in new ways and make preparing and telling great stories together more convenient than ever.”
Sean Greaney, Brand Manager for World of Darkness, which is owned by Paradox, added;
Our partnership with Demiplane signals a new era for World of Darkness TTRPG players and Storytellers with less bookkeeping so they can get to the fun parts of roleplaying faster. World of Darkness Nexus assembles all official game content in a convenient and accessible way for players, whether they are new to World of Darkness TTRPGs or have been playing for decades.
Demiplane’s tools allow players to focus on what they love, creating stories with their characters and sharing those stories with their friends, with all the speed and ease that technology allows. We welcome the entire Vamily to check out the World of Darkness Nexus when it launches into Early Access next year.”
Demiplane has been busy in recent weeks. Late October saw the platform announce a similar deal with Paizo for Pathfinder Nexus. It’s interesting to see the “Nexus” name being used again, one which puts the Pathfinder and World of Darkness brands side by side.
Roll20, a virtual tabletop in a similar space to Demiplane, recently called out Vampire specifically, and the World of Darkness, as top risers on their platform.
Neither Paradox nor Renegade, who publish the books, is mentioned in the World of Darkness Nexus communication. The partnership is between Demiplane and “World of Darkness”.
