The 3rd edition of Adventure System by Idyll Creations is out. The PDF is already available from DriveThruRPG, and the file needed for a print-on-demand copy has been submitted for approval.
The Adventure System is a generic RPG engine for fantasy, cyberpunk, sci-fi, or historically set RPGs.
The rules make use of a single dice, and its face value is always used. There are almost no calculations needed during gameplay. The system is classless, and characters are awarded Fate in each game for re-rolls or character advancement.
The recently released Outland uses the Adventure System. That’s a sci-fi set in 3648, with humanity spread from a shattered Terra and across Sol. That game has 12 archetypes, 15+playable races, equipment, armour, robots and mentalism powers. It’s a showcase of just how flexible the Adventure System can be.
The changelog shows what’s new with v3 of the core rules with tweaks to sanity checks, overcharge, might, healing and similar. There are clarifications on kill shots, ranged weapons in melee, and spread.
Escape rules have had a complete overhaul.
