A new Kickstarter from the geeky crafters at Elderwood Academy is for a tome that transforms into a DM screen, dice tray and other accessories.
Launched today, the campaign sped through the funding goal, and every backer tier is limited in number. Elderwood Academy will only make so many of these tomes. You can see the numbers tick or pledge on the project page.
Practical but also a stunning gift, it makes sense for Elderwood Academy to launch this campaign in the run-up to the holidays, but the transforming boxes won’t be ready until next year.
Made from wood and leather, with magnet-mounted modules so you can configure and transform the unit.
Accessories include;
- A standard tray
- Mini tray
- Halflings pair (two mini trays)
- Dice holder
- Rolling tray (lined)
- Dice tower
- Tablet holder
- DM Kit
- Dragonscale leathers
These snap together over two design bases and several leather choices, more foil and a wide art range. There’s no choice of wood, and Elderwood says little about sustainability.
The Master Tome itself is big enough to hold a D&D hardback. Elderwood provides this photograph to prove it.
Master Tome is bound in sprawling, continuous swaths of real leather. Creased and textured, each binding is precision cut and tethered by hand, creating lasting quality and unique living variations that make each Master Tome truly singular. Master Tome is built to survive on your bookshelf, in your backpack, and at every one of your games for generations to come. Your great-grandchildren will thank you.
Gamers who back the project with $199 will get a Master Tome as a reward. That’s the only tier, but there are different versions of it;
- One for June 2022 delivery.
- One for July 2022 delivery.
- One for August 2022 delivery.
- A sold-out May 2022 delivery option is now off the table.
However, the accessories for the tome are added extras, costing between $30 and $45 each.
