Salvage Union RPG’s quick start beta version is now available as publisher Leyline Press readies for Dragonmeet.
The tabletop RPG is where players are salvagers living on a giant Mech that’s their HQ and means of survival. These “Union Crawlers” trek across the wastelands looking for salvage and trying to deal with dramas like the Corpos who still claim ownership of the ruined land, the bio-mecha rising from the ruins and alien constructs.
A narrative-focused game, Salvage Union uses a d20 at its core and eschews traditional character stats for evocative Mech and Pilot abilities. You do get to customise your Mech, though, in keeping with the spirit of Mech games.
The beta quickstart is 45-pages and includes some stunning art, suggesting an anime-meets-Star Wars theme and making that work.

There’s the core rules needed, rules for combat, heat and salvaging as well. There are 6 pre-made mechs and 6 pilots, as well as a sample scenario.
The quickstart also contains weapons, a bio-titan, and a teaser of the designers’ tips and guidance for GMs.
In London, Leyline Press will be at Dragonmeet on December 4th and handing out free physical copies of the quickstart to anyone who has backed the project on Kickstarter by then.
When is that Kickstarter? Leyline says “soon”, and I guess before December 4th! You can ask them yourselves at their Discord.
