Jocher Symbolic Systems has made and freely gives away a Discworld tribute called A One in a Million Chance at Adventure.
The tabletop RPG is free as it’s entirely unofficial and not associated with The Estate of Sir Terry Pratchett in any way.
The game offers the chance to traverse the Disc, find love, meeting exciting friends while trying to stay in the legal harbour of tribute material.
It certainly is a labour of love. A One in a Million Chance at Adventure is 28-pages long and on its second edition. There’s a separate character sheet to download and its own Discord server to join, chat and laugh.
The system the RPG uses is inspired by many others; FATE, Mork Borg, Mouse Guard, D&D and even Discworld GURPS, which is official and can still be bought. It uses a tight resource economy with dice roles. Failure is likely, but it uses a fail-forward system to make sure those mini disasters become fun adventures and heap onto the narrative.
There’s also now a Spotify playlist with an incredible 836 songs in it. That’s over 24 hours of music to explore the Disc to.
Last but not least. The tribute RPG even has its own A one in a million chance at a Zine.
