Here’s something that might cause you doubt. Firebox, a UK retailer of quirky and often geeky gifts, says that if you order now you’ll get it in time for Christmas.
Here’s something else; they also seem to be selling a kid-sized axe throwing game. Real axes that go thunk into a child-sized bullseye.
[Thuunk!]
Just to be clear, I love the idea. Also, I’m the one saying “child-sized”, there’s nothing in Firebox’s text that hints that the intended audience is children. The official name of the product is The Small Viking Axe Throwing Game.
What’s a Small Viking? It’s undoubtedly a small game, those axes are tiny, and it’s actually the lack of space it takes up that interests me in it. But I’ve no garden, and I’m not bringing an actual axe throwing game into my apartment. I’ve Forged in the Dark books here, and board games, and minis and tech! This is not an axe-throwing safe area.
Those aesthetics, though!
So, if you’re braver than me and don’t have any kiddlings that might pick up the perfect-for-small-hands axes, then perhaps you will be more than tempted by the £80 set of metal and wood.
