The Hugo Awards are a literary celebration of sci-fi and fantasy. Typically, they’re announced at the World Science Fiction Convention and are selected by members.
The Awards are arguably the most prestigious sci-fi award a writer can get and are named after Hugo Gernsback. Gernsback started the sci-fi magazine Amazing Stories, which was crucial in establishing the genre as a literary topic.
Looks like publishers Tor had a good night, along with author Martha Wells.
