Emo-klore is free to access and download tabletop roleplaying game. It’s been made by various members of the Japanese roleplaying games YouTube community and as a showcase.
The name is a portmanteau of “Emotional” and “folklore”, which references the Oddities or supernatural creatures that can be encountered in the game.
Characters are known as Resonators in the game, in part that’s due to their Infinite Resonance attribute. Think of that as a “corruption” score. Encounters with Oddities mess with people’s emotions, and that’s tracked with Infinite Resonance for Resonators. As the score changes, the PC might become weaker or more likely to influenced by the Oddities.
Games often lean towards mystery and horror.
The site is in Japanese, but Google Translate copes with it well and automatically with Chrome.
Furthermore, Japan-based YouTuber Aethersong has put together a 20-minute English guide video Emo-klore.
The word from Aethersong is that while Emo-klore is new, it is starting to gain popularity in Japan.
Emo-klore is also supported by free online tools such as dice bots and character sheets. There are several free adventures all ready and waiting.
