The light novels by Shinkoshoto that the manga is based on are called Tensei Kenja no Isekai Life: Daini no Shokugyō o Ete, Sekai Saikyō ni Narimashita which most translations put as “The Reincarnated Sage’s Alternate World Life: I Got a Second Profession, and Became the Most Powerful in the World”.
When Square Enix Manga and Books secured the rights for, you guessed it, manga and books, they went with the English “My Isekai Life: I Gained a Second Character Class and Became the Strongest Sage in the World!” That’s what you can find in Amazon.
I’m seeing both used for the anime, and I suspect it’s partly translation issues around, say, “character class” and “profession”. It might also be branding and licensing issues.
The show, however, looks fun! It is due out this year.
The story is of a poorly paid and overworked salaryman, Yūji Sano, who finally gets home one night to find a strange message on his computer.
You have been summoned to an alternate world!”
In true Isekai fashion, that’s what happens, and Yuji finds himself in a strange fantasy world. He quickly tames a slime that character class he gets is “Tamer”.
The “Sage” character class comes later, and it’s the one that awakens all sorts of powers.
However, it’s following a slime, the weakest of all monsters, that kicks off the world of adventure. And yes, the promo poster does show a slime with a ‘tash!
