The kind and cheerful folk at the non-profit The Spiel Foundation are categorising losing their rented warehouse and giving away all their games as a good problem.
You can donate cash to help them.
The Spiel Foundation gives away games; they offer bundles of them to hospitals, shelters, senior centres, halfway houses and places where games can do good.
Yesterday, the charity broke the news;
Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are losing our rented warehouse space in less than six weeks. That means we have to finish finding homes for bundles, negotiate the best rate we can get with shipping companies, and then pay for and label each bundle before loading them onto trucks and sending them on their merry way.
In a Facebook post, they asked people to request places to give their bundles away since they could no longer store them.
Less than a day later, all their bundles had gone. According to their end of year update, they had over 10,000 prepared. An update to the same post brought supporters up to speed just a few hours later;
This means we have more requests than bundles to deliver now, which is AMAZING and also a very good problem to have!!
It’s great that the charity sees this as a good problem, but what will they do without a warehouse? Hopefully, the non-profit aims to keep going and negotiate space wherever they can afford to go.
Sponsors include Haba, Czech Games Edition, and Bezier Games.
