Estab-Life: Great Escape is an interesting new anime project from the Estab-Life Project. That’s a transmedia campaign with a smartphone game, a TV anime and feature-length anime.
It’s the far future; population numbers are declining, so the “Supernatural Renovation Project” divides Tokyo into Clusters of populations with different genetic modifications and has AIs rule each one.
The TV anime is about people who want to escape.
Goro Taniguchi (Code Geass, Back Arrow) is running the project and will explore themes of escape, records and variation. It’s an original work with no previous manga or light novel to base the series on.
Estab-Life: Great Escape will air on Fuji TV and affiliates in Japan. The good news is that outside Japan, Crunchyroll will stream the anime.
