A few eCommerce options are available today for publishers, and the choice is good. DriveThruRPG’s latest initiative to help promote indies, win them over and help ring up those sales is the Indie Gallery.
Meredith Gerber, Premier Publisher Relations Representative, told Geek Native;
To give more exposure and marketing to our Indie Publishers, OneBookShelf has started experimenting with a project called ‘Indie Gallery’ in which indie titles get looped into a collection of a proposed theme. We hope that customers who see the onsite banner, social media, and newsletter graphics will find games they didn’t know about already or find similar matches to their favorites.
Indie Gallery: Spotlighting Cozy Gems
The theme for the opening test is “Cozy”, and the titles in it are;
- Wanderhome.
- Tiny Taverns.
- Ryuutama: Natural Fantasy Roleplay.
- Chuubo’s Marvelous Wish-Granting Engine.
- Epyllion: A Dragon Epic.
- The Mending Circle.
- Under Hill, By Water.
- The Border Keep.
Meredith also explained how the experiment might progress;
This experiment will change themes as it progresses and launch bi-monthly but never against site-wide sales. The titles are not discounted (unless the publisher wants to discount it!) but are looped together in a featured page.
The spotlight studiously and wisely avoids the definition of indie in indie RPG.
