Jeremy Childrey has a “Project We Love” from Kickstarter with his horror Dive that uses the sci-fi RPG Mothership’s Panic Engine.
Dive isn’t an adventure; it’s a toolkit – a hack that lets you use Panic Engine, not in space, but in and under the water. The project has been funded, has about three weeks to run and you can join in now.
Jaws, Deep Blue Sea and, of course, the iconic dark brilliance of The Abyss. These are the movies and books that Dive looks to channel.
At least, Dive will be 40 pages, A4 and perfect bound. It’ll include the water hacks such as rules for depth and pressure, which means Panic Table updates for scuba diving.
There will be Dive-specific skills, equipment, new and alternative trinkets and tattoos. The Warden gets additional support.
The adventure kit “From The Deepest Trenches” is part of the campaign, a story about the consequences of taking what you shouldn’t.
Chum is a pamphlet adventure about intelligent sharks being a deadly menace for a small fishing town.
One of the most terrifying things about DIVE is that many of the monsters you will encounter are very real. Included with the core rules is a bestiary featuring many well known aquatic monsters, both of legend and the very real and well documented.
Supporters contributing $13 or more to the campaign will be a digital thank you of the Chum PDF, From the Deepest Trenches PDF and the Dive PDF.
Alternatively, $13 is enough (plus shipping) for just From the Deepest Trenches in paper and PDF.
And so the tiers increase; $17 for Dive in print and PDF, $30 for Dive and Trenches or $40 for everything. The top tier, $40, is the most popular at the time of writing.
