It only took a few hours for Alberto Furlan’s The Royal Cartographer to fund on Kickstarter. It’s a game where you try and influence what officially gets recorded on the Regent’s map.
There are two versions of the game; a solo RPG, in which the Regent’s will is an obstacle to accuracy, and a two-to-four player version. There are about two weeks left on the short campaign, and you can join from Kickstarter.
The estimated delivery for the project is July 2022 but you won’t have to wait that long to sample it. A Name Your Own Price version is already live on Itch.io. You can download The Royal Cartographer now.
The crowdfunding campaign is for a physical game, illustrations, 7 original maps, a sticker sheet and community copies. There are even stretch goals to add to the loot pile.
Who will the Royal Cartographer represent on the Kingdom’s map? Do they even have a choice?
The pledge tiers are straightforward. If you back the campaign with €8 or more (that’s about £7) then you’ll get PDF, and ePub copies of the game, a map pack, a digital version of the sticker sheets, all the digital stretch goals, and one copy goes into the community.
The next and final tier up is €15, which adds in the printed booklet and paper versions of the maps, sticker sheets and stretch goals. It also adds another community copy to the project.
