The Wagadu Chronicles is an Afropunk setting that uses D&D’s 5e as a game engine.
You can get the core rules for free, by signing up for news. Twin Drums, the company behind the project, are primarily a computer game maker and have an MMO for The Wagada Chronicles in production. That’s a massively multiplayer online game.
Curious? Twin Drums are looking for “alpha-1” playtesters and if you fancy being one of them you can apply here.
Applications aren’t automatically successful, there are NDAs (non-disclosure agreements) in place, and you won’t be able to talk about the game as a result. You certainly can’t stream it.
As The Wagadu Chronicles draws inspiration from real-life folklore, mythology and culture, it is correct for the publisher to be savvy to diversity and representation. The application does ask whether you’re from a black/POC demographic or not.
However, the only requirement is that you are part of the Discord server as Twin Drums uses this to discuss your alpha testing experiences.
