Wizards of the Coast and DriveThruRPG’s worthy project of scanning old D&D books from the TSR era continues. As a result, there are two new books available as pay-for downloads.
Authors include Jon Pickens, Burce Nesmith, Scott Bennie, Grant Boucher, Rick Swan, Gary L. Thomas and others. MC2 was first published in 1989 and then Volume Four more than ten years later in 1998.
Monsters introduced, or reintroduced, include dopplegangers, hippogriffs, rust monsters and purple wyrms. Volume 4 has lesser-known creatures like the blindheim, shadowrath and varkha.
As DriveThruRPG points out, thanks to help from Shannon Applecline, the original version had early printings which contained a replacement page for the vampire sheet in Monstrous Compendium Volume One. While we’re talking about the other Monstrous Compendiums it’s worth noting that DTRPG has many.
There’s no guarantee but in due time print-on-demand versions of these scans are sometimes added to DriveThruRPG’s options for these scanned old D&D books.
