American political author James Carville coined the quip, “It’s the economy, stupid”, and rightly or wrongly, the phrase gets marched out in debates to explain people’s behaviour.
Unlimited Realms wants to make the economy more critical in 5e settings. Sure, maybe not as crucial as it might be for some folk, but a little more robust at least.
The result? We’ve nearly a whole month of the campaign to run, and there’s well over £30,000 pledged. 1,000 backers look possible since the Kickstarter is at 700 today. You can find out more or pledge from the pitch page.
The London-based publisher frames all this finance with a fantasy mecha – a magnificent walking marketplace. This hustle and bustle of magical shopping can walk into your pre-existing campaign and introduce its goodies.
What’s being funded? Well, 25 artists have been involved resulting in;
- 200+ magic items
- 4 new races
- 4 new sub-classes
From rolling tables and trading ideas to updated rules and over 200 original magic items, this hardback module has plenty of content for any Game Master (GM) to immerse themselves in! To add to the excitement, we’ve introduced new character creation options, including new races, subclasses, and backgrounds that reflect the theme of commerce. Finally, all this content is wrapped up in a unique story that can be instantly placed into any campaign setting you are currently playing, with a vast array of quests, NPCs, and optional lore!
A pledge of £18 will get you an in-book mention and a digital copy of the supplement.
Haggle up to £40 and put aside money to invest in VAT and shipping later, and the hardback Cyran’s Magnificent Walking Marketplace joins the loot pile.
At £59, there’s also a DM screen, Deven Rue printed maps and a luxury sleeve for the hardback.
The top tier is called “Lord of Gold”, which costs £96 to unlock and adds in a dice set and 200+ magic item cards.
Shipping and fulfilment are expected next year and in February 2023.
