When Goodbye, Don Glees! first popped onto Geek Native’s radar last year, I tracked it because it looked gorgeous.
Kadokawa has now taken the generous but not unheard of step of streaming the first 15 minutes of the theatrical release. It’s moodier than suspected, sombre in colour and tone. It’s also in Japanese, without subtitles, but the English credits give me a reason to hope there are international release plans.
“Don Glees” is the name of a gang. A two-person gang, a bond of friendship between Roma, who lives in town and Toto. Toto leaves, moving to Tokyo.
The first summer vacation reunites the two and introduces a third friend, Drop when things go wrong. The youngsters are blamed for starting a forest fire.
I can’t understand a word of the 15-minute preview, but I did see the firelighter and who could miss the drone.
The feature length is out already, hitting the big screen in Japan late last week.
Via Crunchyroll.
