Geek Gamers is a popular YouTube channel with a focus on solo RPGs.
There are already RPG books to the channel’s name, such as Wanderings: A Gothic Roll and Read Table which is available on Amazon and contains excerpts from 18th and 19th classic novels.
The latest is Solo Game Master’s Guide which has been picked up for distribution by Modiphius. It’s from Modiphius’ website (UK and US).
As you’d expect, the book is all about running a game for yourself.
The Solo Game Master’s Guide contains system-neutral tricks for those moments of discovery in games when you don’t know what comes next.
Oracle systems are popular in solo RPGs but can end with a “Yes/No” question, and the Solo Game Master’s Guide tackles this head-on. It also suggests ways to get the most from solo Oracle systems.
It’s not just Oracle systems that Geek Gamers tackle, though; there are examples of how to solo with systems like Modiphius’ own Achtung! Cthulhu, Index Card RPG and others.
There are the mindsets successful solo GMs have, along with common and significant mistakes solo GMs sometimes make to avoid them.
Just as Wanderings has random tables, so does the Solo Guide, offering 70+ pages of lists and generators for character traits, plot twists and invention.
