Modiphius’ Fallout: The Roleplaying Game was released in September 2021.
That’s fairly late in the year, but it was enough for the RPG to become the second best-selling sci-fi on DriveThruRPG. Dune, also from Modiphius, beat it to the top position.
Now, ICv2’s survey of North American retailers has revealed that the RPG also made the top five of retail sales.
Modiphius’ adaptation of the popular computer is a big one; some 438-pages in a hardback. It uses the publisher’s 2d20 system as a base, with rules for survivors, super mutants, ghouls and Mister Handy robot characters to play.
In 2077, the storm of nuclear war reduced most of the planet to cinders. From the ashes of nuclear devastation, a new civilization will struggle to arise. A civilization you will shape.
In the first position, no surprise is Dungeons & Dragons and compared to Spring 2022, Alien (Free League) and Cyberpunk (R. Talsorian) have slid off the chart.
RPG | Publisher |
---|---|
Dungeons & Dragons | Wizards of the Coast |
Pathfinder | Paizo |
D&D 5E | Goodman Games |
Fallout RPG | Modiphius Entertainment |
Call of Cthulhu | Chaosium |
Chaosium’s Lovecraftian horror, Call of Cthulhu, also had a good end of the year. The game of madness and monsters pushed back into ICv2’s charts to take the 5th position.
Goodman Games’ 5e offerings replace a “Various 5e” listing from Spring.
