The Prismatic Tower is a 5e Kickstarter adventure and a new wild magic system from designer Maitre Corbeau.
The Tower campaign launched yesterday, is doing well and brings detailed cartography, English and French content and 15-hours of combat and puzzles to challenge players.
Maître provides content from a Patreon account, and from this, Geek Native has some random encounter tables, samples of the designer’s work, to share. First, though, you can find out more about The Prismatic Tower or pledge from the campaign page.
The accompanying Patreon has three tiers of supporter options, but you don’t need to look at it for this Kickstarter.
With English and French options on offer, the module contains Maître Corbeau wild magic rules for 5e designed to spice things up, impress, and hinder. An evolutive mechanism is involved.
The Prismatic Tower, named after the iconic D&D spell, is an adventure that takes a whole day to run, thereabouts, and is suitable for a party of 4 while giving the DM three difficulty levels. Those challenges map to character levels 3, 5 and 9.
Rainbow coloured floors are the hallmark of the Tower, the intensity indicating the challenge level of the puzzles and monsters found there.
Doubtless, some of the backers are lured into the campaign just for the quality of the cartography on display. The eight tower levels are all-around towers, and the map goes up, with each scene a different elevation of the building, resisting the urge to become yet another horizontal dungeon crawl.
Maître Corbeau’s encounter tables
As a sample, Geek Native has a set of encounter tables from Maître Corbeau to share. In this embed you’ll find answers to;
- So, the characters committed a minor crime in a city and the guards were called?
- Is this truly haunted?
- A hag’s house
- Create your own skeleton
- Side quest in a hurry

The Prismatic Tower tiers
There are different tiers for English or French content, but it’s easy to pick the one you want!
Backers who find CA$15 of support will get a PDF of The Prismatic Tower and the Wild Magic rules. There are also digital battle maps and the option to submit a wild magic surge. It’s a few dollars extra if you want both French and English versions, rather than just one.
It’s a CA$30 tier to get a physical copy of The Prismatic Tower and Wild Magic but pick one based on where you need those sent as shipping is not included.
Those at CA$80 get physical copies, digital copies, and printed battle maps.
There’s a higher, French-language only tier for some sessions with Maître Corbeau.
Delivery of the digital content is really soon and in April 2022, with the physical booklets due out in May.
