In an official alert today, Toei has revealed their network has been breached.
The anime production doesn’t say whether any data was lost or whether customer details are at risk but reveals that some of their internal systems have been suspended, presumably for an investigation and upgrade.
Toei has acted quickly. The cyberattack that breached their defences happened on March 6th, just a few days ago.
As a result of the investigation and the suspension of systems, several anime are now somewhat in limbo. The TV schedule faces delays.
Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai is one of the shows affected. It should be airing episode 73 on Saturday but will run episode 31 instead. The team has not yet committed to what will be broadcast on the 19th.
Digimon Ghost is also caught in the breach, and we are waiting for updates on when it’ll return. It’s expected that it may resume around March 20th.
One Piece is also expected to resume on the 20th as well.
Delicious Party Precure was due to run episode 6 on the 13th; it will now rerun episode 4.
