We know that Disney+ is doing well. It’s being fuelled by that impressive Disney catalogue and production empire.
But, what about Apple TV+? Did it wobble in July when the free trial ended?
JustWatch, the streaming search engine, has a good idea of what people are watching based on the shows logged.
So, yes. There was a wobble, but HBO Max’s launch, which is pushing into Europe, corresponds more closely.
JustWatch’s data also shows that the battle isn’t over. Peacock is struggling, but Apple TV+ is fighting. The gap between HBO Max globally and Apple TV+ is beginning to close again.
There are new deals, of course. On the 10th, Sony revealed an extended three-month free trial for Apple TV+ for PS4 users. It doesn’t double up with the freebie deal for PS5 owners.
New shows like WeCrashed (March 18th), Pachinko (March 25th) and new episodes of Severance all have people’s attention this month as well.
