Daniel Sell runs the Melsonian Arts Council and has launched The Ruinous Palace of the Metegorgos adventure on Kickstarter. The Troika supplement has been funded already, with well over 400 supporters, and there are nearly four weeks to join in.
The adventure also suits B/X and is described as weird-sad, in keeping with the style of the core RPG. You can find out more or back from the pledge page.
Written by Evey Lockhart and illustrated by Sam Mameli, The Ruinous Palace of the Metegorgos offers up a tightly packed adventure setting that’s easy to drop into your ongoing campaign.
It’s a mature game with motherhood, birth, and mild body horror themes. You’ll see that in the art in the Kickstarter pitch.
Bookbinding is appreciated by the team, and so this supplement will be printed on Munken paper, with Pantone spot colouring, thread-sewn, casebound and combined with some “snazzy” endpapers. The result? Tough as nails, we’re told, and pretty too.
The snakes in her hair lie languid in sleep. She needs their warmth for her children, you see.
Swollen, ever-pregnant with memory, Metegorgos waddles about the dark, wet ruination of her ancient home. Long forgotten, she has not been allowed to forget. Again and again, she births wretched reminders of her tragic past.
Untold ages has the cursed Queen suffered for the most cardinal of sins: she dared to make herself powerful and better the world around her. Such slights the awful gods do not forgive.
Still, above all else she is a mother. Still yet does Metegorgos love her torturous children, and so too do they love her.
And thus are they doubly dangerous.
Backers who can pledge £5 will be gifted with a digital copy. It’ll be exclusive to Kickstarter and come with all digital stretch goals.
If you’ve £12 to help support this project, the rewards expand to include the Kickstarter exclusive hardcover.
A Troika starter bundle is also an option if you can support £29 as the core rules are added to the rewards then.
Then, at £119, a host of Troika goods expand the rewards. Everything ever published by the team; Acid Death Fantasy, Fronds of benevolence, Permian Nations, Slow Sleigh to Plankton Downs and Academies of the Arcane are all added.
