I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss begins at the end. Our hero/villain regains some of her memory discovers she’s the love rival NPC doomed to failure in her favourite game.
So, to try and do things differently, better, she sets about taming the final boss.
Some of the staff involved are from projects with dark twists and leanings. Kumiko Habara is directing I’m Standing on 1,000,000 Lives, which also took a dark isekai slant.
Kenta Ihara is writing, who previously did Vinland Saga and Saga of Tanya the Evil.
I’m not sure how dark I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss will be. Dark is not the suggestion from the cleverly twinned posters released to promote the show. They hint at, well, shall we call it romance?
Yen Press have the rights to the novels and manga in English. They describe the series;
When her engagement to the prince ends unceremoniously, details of the young noblewoman Aileen’s past life come rushing back and help her realize she’s living inside the world of one of her favorite otome games—as the heroine’s greatest rival! However, her memory has more plot holes than bad fan fiction…and the only certainty is that if she doesn’t do something quick, her death is all but assured. The hero/main-love-interest can’t be relied on, so why not see what the last boss has to say?
The books, written and illustrated by Sarasa Nagase, are available on Amazon through Yen. There it’s described;
When Aileen, the Duke’s daughter, regains her memories of her past life, she realizes she’s barreling towards ruin at full speed. Searching for any way out of her hopeless situation, the method she chooses is to capture the heart of the last boss-the Demon Lord Claude!
