Ivan Sorensen, the author of Five Parsecs From Home, has the third edition of Five Leagues From the Borderlands, available on pre-order. It’s the first time the game has been in print.
The solo and co-op wargame has procedurally generated experiences in a monster plagued fantasy world. It’s available via Modiphius with the pre-order open at the UK and US stores.
The game can be played with minis in a space as small as 2 by 2 feet. Any minis will do provided you have some d6s, d% and some way to keep notes. It’s designed with solo gaming in mind but can be used co-op.
Five Leagues From the Borderlands has 100 different enemy types, 17 unique foes and 6 scenario types.
The feature list promises;
- Fast-moving and miniature agnostic rules.
- The ability to create a Warband of adventurers and follow their story.
- World exploration and mapping.
- Quests.
- Random tables.
- Difficulty modifiers.

The third edition of Ivan Sorensen’s Five Leagues From the Borderlands puts you in command of a warband of hard-worn adventurers fighting to reclaim the land from the sinister forces that threaten to envelop it in darkness.
