Paizo has released the Outlaws of Alkenstar Player’s Guide for free.
The guide supports the new Outlaws of Alkenstar Adventure Path with player-friendly (aka spoiler-free) information. The free download also helps your players create appropriate characters for the campaign.
Alkenstar is a smoggy city full of landmarks and interesting people. The guide introduces these well-known entities to players, helpful knowledge of their characters have lived there. The guide also has help for making such a backstory with tips on how the PC might have become an outlaw, what they do now and how come they’ve just been paid to do it.
As PCs are outlaws, the guide has recommendations on alignments, ancestries, classes, languages, skills and feats. These are made with Paizo’s knowledge of what’s to come in the Adventure Path.
There are also new backgrounds for characters with a criminal past or life in gangs like Banished Brighite, Framed in Ferrous Quarter, and Ratted Out Gun Runner.
The first adventure in the Outlaws of Alkenstar series of three is Punks in a Powderkeg. It’s expected in mid-April and will cost around $25.
The adventure suits four 1st-level characters.
A ragtag band of gunslinging outlaws get their hands dirty in the greasy alleyways and whisky-soaked saloons of Alkenstar, the City of Smog. To get revenge on the mogul who destroyed them, the renegades will have to stick up an illicit bank, foil a crooked shieldmarshal, and escort a reclusive inventor to safety. All the while, countless rough-and-tumble rivals aim to waylay the party and seize the inventor’s latest concoction: pyronite, an explosive substance with the potential to change the face of the world. In a city where the clockwork guards are literally as tough as brass, the antiheroes will need true grit to dole out overdue justice.
The launch of Pathfinder Infinite, Paizo’s community content site, has also made over 120 Pathfinder titles available as free PDF downloads.
