Gary Gygax, the co-creator of D&D, had six children. Luke Gygax has gone on to found Gary Con, write respected D&D content, and is a Desert Storm and Iraq War veteran. Luke, who played Melf (of the arrow), also runs Gaxx Works an RPG publisher.
Gaxx Works has a 5e compatible adventure on Kickstarter. There are two weeks to join in, it’s funded and is set in Okkorim. You can find out more below, or on the project pitch page.
Okkorim is the campaign setting from Luke Gygax, and this Kickstarter expands on the setting seen in Gary Con tournament scenarios.
The Kickstarter is straightforward, funded not just because of the Gygax name but because of a very humble campaign goal and, I imagine, the popularity of D&D 5e adventures.
The scenario brings to life the setting, which features the city of Chentoufi, the remains of the once-proud Ydrissid Empire. The book also explores the tunnels of the Kannat and the depths of the Everdark.
Higher tiers include The Eye of Chentoufi, another Ydrissid Empire adventure, which retails on DriveThruRPG for about $20.
In the first adventure, our heroes learned of the artifact and that there were many people searching for this incredibly dangerous device created by the wizards of the long-dead Ydrissid Empire. At the end of the adventure, our party was left with a critical decision to make, and questions on how to proceed – in this book, those answers and more are revealed!
There’s a low tier for supporters that offers a reward which is an excellent way to be part of a Gygax RPG project. For just $2, you can support the campaign and get a PDF character sheet.
Higher up, at $8 (about £7), you get that and a digital edition of the Heart of Chentoufi adventure.
Backers at $25 also get a print edition, with shipping to be added later, and a digital edition of the Eye of Chentoufi.
Both Gaxx Works books are included in print and digital for backers at $45. At $75, there are also signatures from Matt Everhart, the co-creator, and Luke.
Tiers go higher and are selling out. The highest is gone already, but a few slots are left at the $200 Platinum tier. That’s a level that includes collaboration on the project.
The delivery of the leading project is slated for August, with the signatures and special deals coming later.
