Based on Acererak the Eternal, a demilich from the D&D setting of Forgotten Realms, WizKids will release a glowing skull to retail.
The foam trophy is slated to be available for retail in May, although I don’t see it on pre-order in big retailers like Wayland Games yet.
The eyes glow. The carved gemstone designs are there as eyes and teeth. The eyes light up with LEDs.
There are two possible “poses” for the skull, one in which the demilich lays flat and another in which it is beginning to rise up from the tomb dust.
I, Acererak the Eternal, beckon you to your doom. Come foolish ones, plunder my treasures, if you dare! Others have tried. All have failed! From your skin, tapestries shall be woven, and your bones will carpet my tomb. Only I am beyond death’s reach. Only I know the secret to true immortality!
— The epitaph of Acererak
Acererak defeated the Nine Trickster Gods of Omu in Chult, enslaved the Omuans and had them build the Tomb of the Nine Gods. Afterwards, he killed all of the Omuans as well and buried them with the gods.
There are both D&D 4e and 5e stats for the demilich, which give it a Challenge Rating of 23.
Previously, Gale Force Nine released a limited edition Acererak the Lich Collectors’ Series Tomb of Annihilation miniature in conjunction with Wizards of the Coast. This model also shows floating dust skulls.
