There’s no talking, no dialogue or banners to get in the way of the KanColle -ITSUKA ANO UMI DE- (Someday in that sea) trailer. The result is a surreal blend of action, art and music.
The trailer is a compilation of previous teasers for the anime based on Kadokawa Games’ web browser game Kantai Collection/KanColle.
This new anime was announced years ago, but AnimeJapan 2022 caught us up, and the show is now due out this year. It’ll follow on from where the first TV series finished in 2015 and the movie in 2016.
IMDB describes the first series;
Set in a world where humanity has lost control of the oceans to the “deep sea fleet,” the only hope to counter this threat are the Kanmusu, a group of girls who possess the spirit of Japanese warships. The story revolves around Fubuki, a destroyer who comes to the Chinjufu base to train with other Kanmusu. Watch as their stories unfold.
This trailer certainly has gun-girls, or warship-women, but it also blends in those art clips and a hypnotic track. It’s hard to imagine this as a battle series.
