Elderbrain took feedback from over 2,000 D&D fans with surveys and votes. The publisher wanted to find out what the community wanted and then wrote a D&D 5e adventure module to fit those needs.
The result is Crown of the Oathbreaker and the first chapter sample is free to download.
Crown of the Oathbreaker is 916-pages in total, giving it a claim at one of the largest 5e publications to go on sale.
The adventure will take characters from level 5 to 13 and involves a cursed kingdom and the Feyrealm. That’s a campaign that features 40 dungeon maps, 3 regional maps and 80 locations. Oathbreaker is a sandbox; PCs can explore it in any order they want.
Elderbrain’s module includes new monsters, subclasses, feats, spells and magic items.
The story is set in the Kingdom of Aglarion, where the characters will uncover dark secrets from the past of a royal family after the fall of a blessed era and break a curse that plagues the kingdom.
The players will have to explore lands ravaged by the curse and travel to the Feyrealm, the Shadowrealm, and even Hell, where they will face hard moral dilemmas before saving the crown from the dreadful effects of an otherwise inevitable pact. A sinister bargain has caused suffering for the people of the land and has created a mad witch-knight hungering for revenge.
There are even official soundtracks to go with the adventure which are available from a download page on Elderbrain.com.
The publisher, Gabor, Tom and David, say;
Each soundscape is composed of several dozen beautiful, location specific sounds, which blend to create a unique, constantly changing atmospheric background. These sound play at random times, volume, length, distance, reverb, and velocity to create an infinitely unique ambience with no repetitions. Timed events control the flow of each soundscape to bring changes in weather, day/night time and such conditions to life and to make these ambiences even more colorful. All of our soundscapes are 5.1 surround sounds.
We create soundscapes specifically for our adventure modules but they can be used in any setting. New updates with more free soundscapes will be continuously released for our past and future adventure modules.
