Alan Tucker has a 5e supplement in production, a task that’s taken two years so far, and now the 22-page preview is free to download from DriveThruRPG.
The book is The Eye of Everywhere, and the preview comes ahead of this Gamefound project. The project page is accessible but in preview code.
If it’s successful, the funded setting will be a multiverse spanning around The Eye. That’s a portal built on both sides of a thin disk. The unusual urban environment is home to thirteen factions, each doing business, each sanctioned by a mysterious group known as the Wardens.
The final book aims for 150 to 200-pages and a $25 price point for a DriveThruRPG print-on-demand service.
The sci-fi setting includes new races, and the preview features the Techint.
Short for “technological intelligence,” techints are exactly that: beings constructed from inorganic materials which possess independent thought, personality, and desires. Techints exist in all shapes, sizes, and forms and are just as diverse in their composition as their organic counterparts—perhaps even more so, though their numbers are far fewer.
Techints are asexual, though some have the desire to reproduce. While it is not required for reproduction, many techints still enjoy the company of others and sometimes form intimate bonds with others, either in pairs or small groups. These family units often work together to create new techints, each offering their own special talents to the building process. The family unit nurtures the burgeoning intelligences through their maturation process, which typically takes several weeks to a few months, and the new techint is free to remain with the family unit or strike out on their own.
The majority of techints do not ascribe to a gender, as the concept is rather alien to them. Some, however, develop personalities which lead them to identify themselves as male, female, or other options. Regardless, each techint is unique, despite sometimes sharing similar physical qualities—a fact which organics often inexplicably struggle with.
