Rivers of London is an urban fantasy from Ben Aaronovitch which can be described as “Monster hunters in muscle cars” or as Ben told Geek Native “What if Gandalf had joined the Sweeney?”.
In that chat, I got to geek out over the forthcoming Chaosium Rivers of London RPG. I don’t need any more RPGs, but I’ll be getting this one.
It’s not just audiobooks and RPGs that Rivers of London’s success has enabled. There’s a series of comic books from Titan. The new series is illustrated by Jose Maria Beroy, is called Deadly Ever After, and has a cracking writing team.
Penning Deadly Ever After are Aaronovitch, the Doctor Who script editor Andrew Cartmel and Celeste Bronfman who writes Star Trek!
Geek Native has a generous preview. Here’s how Titan describe the new story;
When Chelsea and Olympia accidentally break an enchantment in the woods, deadly fairy tales from a mysterious old book begin coming to life. To set things right, Chelsea and Olympia must unravel a mystery dating back to the 1800s before they become victims of a lethal sorcery.
Titan says the first edition will be on sale in comic shops and digitally on May 18. You can get it from Forbidden Planet and Amazon.
