One More Multiverse has $17 million invested in it to bring tabletop RPGs to, well, JRPG style interfaces.

You sign in with Discord, download the app and then pass through the tutorial to get into the beta.
I gave it a bash, created Bony Tony, was pleased to see the use of Safety Tools as part of the training (and Notion too, for that matter), and got started when I finally gave in and downloaded the app properly rather than trying to play in browser.
I didn’t complete the tutorial, and I blame time pressure on that, but I was there long enough to find the familiarity of the concept reassuring. I didn’t get to speak to anyone, but OMM could be interesting for conventions if there’s any whiff of video chat. As it is now, I’m very much reminded of my original RPG addiction; MUSHes, aka multi-user shared hallucinations. Yet, OMM is visual.
While I didn’t make it through the tutorial, I’m sure I could be lured back if those time pressures eased and I had a game to play there or a reason to chill. Is that enough for $17m in investment? Time will tell.
