It’s been 20 years since the Xbox launched in Scotland. The Scottish Games Network has a report of an unusual partnership to celebrate the date; an Xbox tartan.
Kiltmakers Gordon Nicolson and Lochcarron of Scotland worked on the project, and the result has been endorsed by the Scottish Tartans Authority and entered into The Scottish Register of Tartans.
Yes, there’s such a thing. Tartans are, or were, important.
There will be limited editions of these controllers, Geek Native believes. The design was created by Gordon Nicolson, that’s the company behind the National Football team’s tartan. The fabric was made by Scotland’s oldest mill, Lochcarron.
Graeme Boyd, the Social Media Marketing Manager for Xbox EMEA, told the Scottish Games Network
We are so pleased that we can celebrate the anniversary for Xbox in Scotland in a fun, authentically Scottish way. It’s fantastic that we’re able to work with innovators in a grand Scottish tradition like Gordon Nicolson, whilst giving something exceptional to gaming fans.
