The Many-Sided Dice community have their tabletop RPG of duty, honour, family and maybe love on Kickstarter. There’s a big goal, $25,000 to bring the core rulebook to print, but big plans to match.
The Nashville-based group plans an effervescent tabletop for the high society with an effervescent style and classic period tropes. You can find out more about it on Kickstarter.
The game is very much inspired by the works of Jane Austen and Georgette Heyer but also modern media such as Bridgerton and Downtown Abby.
The collaborative game has Success and Complication as the output of the Regency System engine.
Many-Sided Dice might be better known for Lost Artifacts of Greyghast, a 5e compendium and a Gold Bestseller on DTRPG. It’s held the crown as the most extensive bestselling compendium for quite some time.
In Regency, the Author and the Characters are creating a Novel together. As the Author sits and drafts their tale of romance and societal expectation, the Characters (controlled by the players) are as often collaborators as they are confounders to the Author’s vision. The game feels like a conversation between the writer and these characters who often stray from the plot.
There are lower tiers, such as a hardship one, but the Regency Core Book is available for backers at the $25 level.
Of course, it’s possible to support the project for less and not expect a reward or share it with friends.
The print, which will ship anywhere globally and is classified as a Premium Hardcover, is the reward for backers at the $60 mark.
To keep up to date with all the potential spin-offs (Royals and Vampires) then a pledge of $120 will secure all the stretch goal PDFs for you as well. Those are printed versions as well if you back at $200.
Many-Sided aim to be busy and estimate delivery for September 2022.
