The acclaimed and often talked about Chainsaw Man has an anime, and that blood-soaked show has found a home.
Audiences outside Japan will get to see the shocker on Crunchyroll.
Crunchyroll told the press that the new series “made the cut”. Boom, boom!
The platform will simulcast the series with Japan and do so both subtitled and dubbed. It’ll do that in 200 countries and in several languages. Impressive.
Asa Suehira, Chief Content Officer at Crunchyroll, noted;
With dark humor, dynamic characters and a sharp story, Chainsaw Man is one of the most anticipated new series this year, and we are wickedly excited to bring it to fans on the Crunchyroll service. Anime fans will be up all night thinking about the spectacular visuals and high-octane action.”
That said, despite all the effort, they don’t have much to say about the show itself. Not yet. The official synopsis is skinny.
Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita.
One day, Denji is betrayed and killed. As his consciousness fades, he makes a contract with Pochita and gets revived as “Chainsaw Man”– a man with a devil’s heart.
MAPPA are at the helm; that’s the same studio that gave us Attack on Titan (some of it) and Jujutsu Kaisen. The manga has won awards, so, yeah, the pressure is on.
