Craig Campbell and Nerdburger have been going great guns. The indie publisher has been prolific with well-received and original games.
The latest is Secrets of the Vibrant Sea RPG, a cosy solo game. There’s a short play mode with a day-to-day focus, and a long play one lasts a few hours long and goes into more details. You can find out more and back at Kickstarter.
In the solo RPG, you are exploring a mystical ocean filled with the spirits of the dead, and they are angry ghosts.
However, the headline is of a cosy game, and you join watery locals to face down these entities.
A simple mechanic underpins the game, and you have four Traits; Discover, Interact, Learn and Survive. You add your Trait value to a d10 roll and any bonuses you can muster.
The Vibrant Sea is a long-forgotten realm of mystery, wonders, and deep, dark secrets. Your character has found their way to the Vibrant Isle and will explore the Vibrant Sea around it. But will they and their friends be able to stop the darkness that threatens to destroy this wonderful place?
Secrets of the Vibrant Sea is a solo tabletop roleplaying game where you portray a character exploring a fantastical ocean. As you play the game, you’ll improve your boat, improve yourself, and explore many dozens of the sea’s beautiful wonders and murky caves.
And you’ll meet the inhabitants who call the ocean their home.
A pledge of $15 is enough to secure a PDF of the solo game, although you can back it for any money and through social shares.
With shipping only to a few countries but larger markets, a pledge of $20 will add a softcover that will come from Nerdburger to you. It’s not a DriveThruRPG print-on-demand.
With the core rules, the book’s supplement is available and is added to the digital-only rewards at $30. The physical books for both are at $35.
