Geek Native looks at a lot of Kickstarters in the TTRPG to compile the heat charts. There are loads of 3d printer campaigns these days, low cost, low-risk Kickstarters offering files for your home rig. The flood gates on campaign worlds that come complete with bespoke designs are cracking open. If they open, we’ll gush from providing model designs to whole worlds with NPCs, notes, maps, art, swag and designs.
Iain Lovecraft is a designer with a popular MyMiniFactory store. Iain’s on Kickstarter with a campaign that asked for €1,000 to fund. With a fortnight left has raised more than €70,000. Dark Alley Adventures has lots of these STL designs for minis and terrain, and it comes with a D&D 5e campaign to bind it all together. Minis first, 5e second. You can see more of the designs on the pitch page.
There’s a free download of a sample of the Blood Moon adventure from Dark Alley, a teaser, a proof of what Lovecraft has in mind.
Joining Iain Lovecraft on the Kickstarter is a ground known as “Are Creative”, and it’s that team who has put the campaign together.
The whole set is known as “The Dark”, a campaign world inspired by Penny Dreadful tales, mythos and mystery.
A pledge of €55, which is about £32, will get you the digital files for the project. However, if you can move swiftly enough, there’s a limited number tier that discounts that to €37 still open.
After that, since the first tier has everything, there’s a retailer €250 offering that will let you print and sell models from the Dark Alley project.
In the few days that the project has been open, variations of the All-in tier have been and gone.
Are Creative and Lovecraft estimate that they can deliver the files for Dark Alley as early as July 2022.
