Shadows House is currently streaming on Crunchyroll, and season 2 is on the way, with a trailer just out.
Sony’s platform describes the odd show;
High atop a cliff sits the mansion known as Shadows House, home to a faceless clan that pretends to live like nobles. They express their emotions through living dolls that also endlessly clean the home of soot. One such servant, Emilico, aids her master Kate as they learn more about themselves and the mysteries of the house.
Yeah, it looks odd. I was tempted by season 1 – for the gothic mystery vibe – never got around to it. I’m not sure whether the season 2 trailer will help me decide to find the time by sacrificing something else, as monster fights aren’t the Poe-esq story I was hoping for.
The cast and crew will return for season two. It’s notable, perhaps, that there was the initial suggestion for just one short season for now. The manga is still being written, still being serialised, and creators so-ma-to have said they’ll now have to divide their attention between that and the anime, promising to do their best.
The anime is being made by CloverWorks, with Persona5 director Kazuki Ohashi at the helm.
Season two is due out on July 8 in Japan, and it’s likely that Crunchyroll will pick it up again.
