The Kickstarter for Fire Lizard Games’ prehistoric Savage Urth RPG is out.
On DriveThruRPG, there’s a preview with a suggested price of $0.00. It’s Pay What You Want, though, so if you download and decide not to back the Kickstarter, you could go back and use this mechanism to give a tip.
There are actually 14 items in the preview with lots of character intros and character sheets. I wasn’t even sure which of the documents were the preview until I figured out (I think) that they are the Hunter of Oreff GM and Player rules files.
Both files are ashcan in style, insofar as they’re barely formatted and look like Word files. However, they do give a good view of the campaign setting.
Savage Urth is an RPG set during an entirely fictitious fantasy time period. It is essentially any or all of the prehistoric ages of Earth combined with mostly fictional species of sentient beings. That’s right, T.Rex fighting a lizard-humanoid that’s riding a Mammoth. This setting sets the stage to capture the fascinating and terrifying creatures and situations that did exist at one time. However, this is a fantasy setting; Dinosaurs, other prehistoric beasts, and sentient beings (some of whom have access to extraordinary powers) exist together.
