Wearing a “Project We Love” from Kickstarter, MonkeyDM’s Steinhardt’s Guide to the Eldritch Hunt took eight minutes to fund.
The 5e supplement is inspired by Soulsborne and Lovecraft and brings macabre monsters, race options and one gothic adventure to the gaming table. There’s still about a month on the clock, and you can see progress from the pitch page.
MonkeyDM runs a popular site and Patreon. The numbers for Patreon are not shared, but there is a $40 per month tier.
The Kickstarter is big money too, and well beyond half a million in pledges from many thousands of backers.
300-pages long, Steinhardt’s Guide to the Eldritch Hunt brings horror to 5e with madness, blasphemous magic and what we’re told are twisted player options.
A World Turned Upside Down. Entrance your players as they unravel the mystery of the ravaged First Hunters, the zealous Radiant Church, and the erudite Obitus Scholare in this victorian-flavored, grimdark setting. Luyarnha is a city on the brink. With a ready-made cast of characters and an unending list of trials, your players will find ample opportunity to become the heroes these soiled streets need or die trying.
There’s a free sample of Eldritch Hunt with a 27-page download for The Remedy, which offers to “Unearth the Secrets Hidden Underneath the Scorching Moon.”
MonkeyDM doesn’t step lightly with the supporters’ tiers. You can help the project with social shares or small pledges, and if you can spare $30 for gaming, that’s enough to secure a PDF copy as a reward.
At $60 in money support, you’ll get a hardcover edition with shipping to be worked out later.
$85 is enough for the Monster Field Notes and Gothic Character Sheets and $140 for Deluxe Tier.
Shipping is slated for March next year.
