Catilus’ Kickstarter for Cute Creatures is at x10 its funding goal on Kickstarter in just a few days. There are more than three weeks left for these adorable creatures to lure in some more backers.
The illustrations caught my eye, but the compendium has stat blocks and lore for each critter. You can follow on, see progress or go back at the pitch page.
There’s a free to download (Dropbox link) for the appropriately adorable Shroompies and Shroomogs available. It leaves you with no doubt about the quality and tone of the content on offer.
The book will include 40 of these critters, which amazingly go up to CR 30, complete with their likes and dislikes. Knowing what a CR 30 adorable monster dislikes or likes, I imagine, is a campaign maker.
There are rules for familiars and steeds, with extra rules for taming, befriending and even building more of the beasties.
Cute Creatures come with adventure hook ideas and tables to get them into your 5e campaign.
Unique and mysterious creatures breathe life to fantasy realms. From tiny critters and adorable robobeasts, to a gargantuan being of whimsy that can challenge even the mightiest of foes, each creature in this book is adorable in its own unique way.
Expand worldbuilding and create exciting new adventure hooks as a gamemaster or befriend cute and sometimes powerful companions and discover new playing styles as a player.
A pledge of €1 will get you access to the add-ons, but you can support the Kickstarter in the usual ways, including telling friends.
It’s just a pledge of €9 (about £8) to get the pdf, and this gets you the early version that comes out as soon as the Kickstarter finishes.
The at-cost print-on-demand coupon is at €18, but remember that still leaves you the cost of printing and shipping.
The campaign is slated to deliver this coming December, which suddenly feels just around the corner.
